I’m listening to The Fake right now! I haven’t been sure what I’ve been in the mood for so I’ve been sampling a bit and this one is quick and keeping my interest so far.

You’re honestly my inspiration as the perfect example of a mood reader. Love that you’re over the fomo. I’d like to say that I am but I’d be lying. Ha ha. I do think I adjust my expectations and give myself tons of grace for DNFing a buzzy book.

I have the audio of Fake too- how is it? I'm happy to be a mood reader inspiration for you:) You're creativity for IG content and graphics keeps inspiring me! I would agree that it's always good to lower expectations on buzzy books

I love your narrowing process, Renee. Like you, I'm also a mood reader. The idea of using buzz words/anti-buzz words is a great one, thanks for that practical suggestion. I've also started snapping screenshots of any books that look like they'd interest me on IG and then adding them to the TBR Fiction notes on my phone. It helps when I'm at the library or a bookstore and suddenly go brain-dead.

Thank you! I find that knowing my buzzwords and anti buzzwords really helps me filter books. That's a great idea to take screenshots, I also take pics at the bookstore so I have the pics for IG plus a way to remember the books that sounded good while I was shopping

love this! I am a total mood reader. I find it really funny -- I used to have such a hard time deciding what books to read when I was little. I would spend soo long at the library and agonize over the decision... now I realize, I was always a mood reader! I needed someone to encourage me to check out allll the books that sound interesting, since my mood was bound to change! Now that's what I do :)

so fun that you can trace your mood reading roots! I remember going to the library and leaving with stacks of books but I mainly remember my tremendous love for The Treasure Island books, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys so I KNOW that's where my love of mysteries and thrillers comes from:)

I am a total mood reader too. It’s next to impossible for me to follow a prescribed TBR Pile. I love it this way… most of the time!

Same! Most of the time I love the thrill of the hunt but sometimes I just wish my next read was waiting in a stack and I could pick it up without all the emotions and time I usually invest

I definitely understand the FOMO. I’ve been doing a better job resisting this year but today I gave into some hype. I don’t regret it but it won’t be a favorite book of the year 🤣

The audiobook narration is lending to the story so I like it. I think you’ll know pretty quickly if you’re in the mood for it, whenever you decide to try it.
