First, do I have the book for you! It is CLOSE TO HOME BY THOR HANSON. It is a biologist guide to train yourself how to appreciate nature. I will send you the book in a synopsis in an email. It seems like it was written exactly for you in for this newsletter. I wish they would write a book on how to explain to your dog that the squirrels and chipmunks do not want to play with him. And that they are laughing as their human makes them move along. Just added the two books that you featured to my wish list on Audible. I need more credits. Hahaha.

That does sound like a good book! I got your email and will see if I can find a copy to add to my nonfiction reading. Vinny is bird obsessed - he keeps chasing them and takes me along for the ride when we're out walking. I would like him to understand he will never catch one so he needs to just ignore them haha

The pull between creating and consuming is so real! I too have been taking time to stop and notice when walking the dog or out on a hike. It’s so recharging

Yes! Recharging is a great word to describe how I feel after a long silent walk in the woods. I think we're all feeling a need to recharge these days. Thanks for your comment:)

I would love to read Renner’s book! I love that actor as Hawkeye in the Marvel movies and he’s also fantastic in an under appreciated drama called Wind River. As for my recent reads, I just finished The Incendiaries by R.O. Kwon which I very much enjoyed. It deals with faith, fanaticism, and the search for meaning.

My Next Breath is worth a read imo. It's quite inspiring. I think I've seen him in the Marvel movie but my favorite movie of his is The Town, I've watched that several times over the years

Thanks for sharing all these great book lists! I always appreciate getting outside, without content, and when I do, am reminded of how much I enjoy it 💚

I love researching interesting articles and lists to share so I’m happy you found some to enjoy here. Walking in nature in silence is becoming something I’m doing just about every time I walk and I look forward to it so much:)

You are inspiring me to go on a walk without listening to something on my phone. I walk most days, and your photos and thoughts about noticing nature is a great idea. And maybe I will have a movie date with my husband for Accountant 2! He would love that.

I thought so too, he cracks me up with his serious looks! I think I've been noticing new things in nature every time I go out for a walk- spring is a happening time in the midwest:)
