Highlighting my favorite decade, plus...whether it's thrillers, coming-of-age, or dramas, there's something special about reading books set in a bygone era
Good Sunday morning Renee. I have my coffee and have just read your article about bygone era books and it was just perfect reading to start my day. I plan to investigate further after I finish my coffee. Lol. 🥰
I loved Summer Sisters, Renee! We should do a re-read ❤️. I miss the slowness of it all. Everything is so automatic now and no one knows how to wait and have patience. I miss the olden days 🤣🤣🤣
I grew up in the 80’s , feeling nostalgic for the decade is so relatable! And yes, same with technology, it has definitely changed the world, in good ways, It may sound old fashioned, but life was so much simpler, the instant gratification was not there as much as it is today. thanks for the list, I’m adding Summer Sisters to my TBR. Definitely feeling nostalgic with Judy Blume :)
Roller skating! Geeze how I loved Friday nights and skating. I so long for that time and while I agree about technology, there was something that just seemed magical about growing up during a time when everything wasn’t expected to come with such immediacy. Thanks for this list. I’ve only read two on the list and headed to the library today -- because that was something I also loved about growing up.
Hi Candace, I'm with you about growing up during a time when things were just slower. We had to learn how to be patient that's for sure - but we also had a lot of freedom as kids. I hope the list leads you to some books you loved:) Happy library browsing!

I’d be up for a summer re-read, I’m curious to see what we’d think of it all these years later

I read Summer Sisters so many years ago that I'm tempted to do a re-read, I just remember loving it being very surprised about the direction it took
I’m hoping to read Sag Harbor soon!
I hope you enjoy it, it would make a fun summer read
