In the eight years that I’ve been talking about books online and on the Book Talk, Etc Podcast, I’ve often been asked where I find books. My answer has usually been “everywhere” or “my list of places is too long to name.” For the first time ever, I’ve put together a list of my favorite places to find books. I’m an avid book researcher and will spend hours scouring almost all of the book websites you’ll find below. The absolute best part of looking for books is knowing there’s still thousands out there waiting to be discovered!
This list is many of my very favorite online book sources, as well as a few other places you all have mentioned in my Friday Thread post. I know I’ve forgotten some, so I will update this post as new book sources come to mind or cross my path. I hope you enjoy browsing and maybe find a book source or two that you haven’t heard of.
Online Sites
Instagram - #bookstagram is the huge book community there. You can find me at itsbooktalk
Libby - the home page of my libby library app always has recommendations grouped by genre, authors, new releases, audiobooks, etc. For example, as I type this I’m browsing “killer thrillers,” over 90 titles chosen by librarians
Netgalley - a place to browse upcoming new releases & receive advanced reader copies to review
Edelweiss - a place to browse upcoming new releases & receive advanced reader copies to review
