I’m listening to THUNDERSTRUCK by Eric Larson, set in the era of Marconi’s invention of wireless communication. While I find his books fascinating, I also feel like they drag as he lays the framework for The Event. I’m listening mostly when I drive but it’s taking forever. I need to pick something engaging from my Kindle Graveyard!

Thanks for all the recommendations!

I just recently listened to your episode on Book Gang. It left me wanting to run to my library and borrow Leaving!

I can't get over that we won't have anymore of AJLT! Still wrapping my head around it!

Honey was one of my favorite reads of 2024! A hidden gem for sure! Jess Walter’s So Far Gone will be on my favorites list this year! I need to circle back and read his beloved title Beautiful Ruins.

I loved Jubilee by Margaret Walker on audio! It's quite long, but I was captivated the whole way through.

I am currently reading Presumed Guilty by Scott Turow and although it is 20 hours and 11 minutes on audio, I am flying through it. it is definitely a different listening experience compared to my other current read which is Trespasses by Louise Kennedy. Sorry I forgot to put the titles in caps. I read SO FAR GONE BY JESS WALTER and enjoyed it. In all fairness, it wasn’t too long ago that I read THE ROAD TO TENDER HEART and it was hard not to compare the two books as i read. I had to laugh when I saw your TBR that you created as I have five books already on my list as well. I do not know where I got the recommendation for HONEY but I’m looking forward to that book followed by ENTITLEMENT. I just finished listening to THE SIDEWAYS LIFE OF DENNY BOSS BY HOLLY KENNEDY. It is excellent on audio and I highly recommend this book. It is a funny heartwarming story about Danny who is a Neuro divergent? This book should be experienced an audio because of the way Danny speaks. It has a very high rating with thousands rating at four. Zero and up.

I loved PRESUMED INNOCENT by Turow years ago but could not get in to his sequel, INNOCENT. Have you read either of those, and if so, how does your current listen compare to those?

I think the first book was Presumed Innocent which is the book that was made into a movie starring Harrison Ford. I loved that movie. It was years later after the movie was released when I read the book. Truthfully, I cannot recall whether I liked it better than the movie or not. Presumed Guilty was released in January of this year. That is the book that I was reading and I just finished it today. I flew through the 20 hour audiobook. I read a little over 10 hours of it just yesterday. I enjoyed the book but if I recall correctly I think I’d like the first book better than this book. There was not really too much suspense in this story and although I could not figure out who committed the murder it was easy to narrow it down. I would give it a four star rating. The high rating is due to the fact that it really kept your reading and not wanting to put the book down or stop it in my case ha ha. I got pulled into the book quickly and it was an easy read that kept my attention. I needed that after finishing Trespasses by Louise Kennedy. That Book got a five star rating from me and it definitely will end up on my top 10 book of the year. after finishing that book I needed some thing that was somewhat mindless listening or reading.
