💬 Friday Thread: What Have You Been Reading and/or Listening To This Week?
and what's been a bright spot in your week? Big or small
Of note- I initially sent this out as a free newsletter because the more the merrier as far as sharing our current reads and listens and what our bright spots are—I love the engagement this Friday Thread brings and the fact that readers can connect with each other. However, I don’t know why this particular Friday post has been inundated with bots or fake accounts spamming everyone’s comments, but I can’t and don’t want to spend my time removing said comments. I’ve had to block and report two separate accounts and individually remove all the comments. I want this to be a space of goodness, connection, and community, so today’s post is now paywalled and future Friday Threads will most likely be too.
Hello and Happy Friday!
I hope you’ve been having a good week. After what I think was a bit of an audiobook slump, I had a huge audiobook win this week—The Briar Club by Kate Quinn! One of my favorite audiobook narrators, Saskia Maarleveld, narrated and she was phenomenal with the many different character voices. I’ll share my full thoughts in the comments, but I swear just about every time I think I'm not in the mood for historical fiction, I end up loving the book. Has that happened to you with historical fiction? It makes me even more excited to see what book wins from the recent poll I just sent out—vote here if you haven’t already—because two historical fictions (Pachinko and A Gentleman In Moscow) are currently leading.
A bright spot in my week…
FINALLY finding an under eye concealer that not only provides good coverage for dark circles, but it’s creamy and a little goes a long way. It’s the Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 from Drmtlgy.com. I got the medium shade and I’m super happy with it. As someone who often doesn’t get great sleep (thanks menopause), dark circles have been a struggle for me for years and I’ve never found a concealer that actually helps conceal them AND is moisturizing enough until this one. This is not an affiliate link and I wasn’t gifted the product, I bought it and just want to share with you:)
Question Time
The questions I ask in weekly threads are meant to be fun and help us connect, so please know you don’t have to answer each question, if you only have the time/desire to answer one, great! Please put book titles IN ALL CAPS for easy reading:)
