💬 Friday Thread: What Are Your Favorite Books, Shows, Products of September?
Plus, a subscription discount offer
Hello!
I had to double check the calendar and shift around my weekly question because I thought we still had another full week of September—this month has flown by! I do have a bit of housekeeping before I get to the questions.
Earlier this year, after having bots or trolls leave messages in this Friday Thread community discussion, I decided to put every Friday Thread behind a paywall. And that worked to keep out the bots. And then, over the last few weeks, I thought I’d try opening up Friday Threads for both free and paid subscribers again. I love these discussions and thought the more the merrier. I feel like this is such a thoughtful community and I welcome everyone who is truly here to talk about books, reading, etc. And that is almost all of us for sure!
However, this week two Friday Thread posts (and my other recent Listed post) started receiving inappropriate comments from a creepy man. I say creepy man but who knows if “he” was real or not, but he did have a Substack profile. Whenever someone comments on any of my newsletters, I’m notified and I immediately blocked and removed him from those posts and all future content. But the damage was done so to speak. I thank Ashley here in our group for letting me know as well.
All this to say, Friday Threads will permanently be behind a paywall starting today. This is a weekly community discussion and I want us to share, comment, and connect knowing that there will not be creepers, bots, or trolls in this space.
I’m going to offer a limited time discount on yearly subscriptions for those who would like to upgrade their membership, click this link or the button below. This offer is good through next Friday, Oct 3. Substack only allows me to offer this for new subscriptions. If you have questions feel free to email me at itsbooktalk@gmail.com
I’m excited to chat September favorites. I’ve had an awesome reading month and suspect my current read will be five stars too.
Meet you in the comments!
Question Time
The questions I ask in weekly threads are meant to be fun and help us connect, so please know you don’t have to answer each question, if you only have the time/desire to answer one, great! Please put book titles IN ALL CAPS for easy reading and include the author’s name if possible:)
What are your favorite books, tv shows/movies, products, or other notables of September?
What have you been reading this week?
Have a great weekend 📚🍂
Renee
