February Reflections: Books Read & More
February highlights including Substacks I'm enjoying, + What I read (with ⭐️ ratings) & things I loved
Hello! Happy March! It feels so good to type the word “March,” mainly because I feel like weather wise I have gotten through the roughest (i.e. gray and dreary) months of midwest weather and sun and warmth is on the horizon. Another reason March brings excitement for me- all the books being published this month! It’s truly one of the biggest publishing months of the year and as a mood reader I love having so many options. Of course, the downside could also be having so many options- what to prioritize and how can I possibly read everything I want to read are questions I’m asking myself and we’re only a few days into the month. How do you all decide what you’re going to read when the book choices are so abundant?
In case you missed it…
Ok, back to February. Overall it was pretty darn enjoyable. I celebrated my birthday (the 18th - Aquarius here:) with a low key dinner out and a day of reading. We also took a short trip to Cancun which was perfect timing to break up those gray days. Beach reading, great food, and good conversations catching up with friends I don’t get to see often were the highlights. Daily walks in nature, seeing two great movies at the theater, and bingeing an addicting show on Netflix rounded out the month. Oh and reading of course! I read 9 books in February and didn’t have anything below 3 stars. I know a lot of you probably loved my 3 star read, but overall it wasn’t for me
I’m adding something a bit different this month- other Substacks I’m enjoying- for two main reasons - I want to help support other writers on this platform and I think there’s many Substacks that you would enjoy reading that maybe you don’t know about. Also, in the interest of time this month I’m just going to give a few thoughts/adjectives on each of my reads and if you’d like to know more in terms of synopsis, just click the link. If you’d like to know more about my specific thoughts on the book you can ask in the comments. Now onto books & more….
